Celebrate Valentine’s Day with a festive dessert board that favors healthier choices—yogurt-dipped pretzels, dark chocolate almonds, fresh fruit, and a simple honey-yogurt dip make this a fun, feel-good treat.

If you’re familiar with my site, you know I’m a fan of a well-styled board. With Valentine’s Day approaching, I wanted to share a simple, pretty dessert board that leans toward better-for-you choices so everyone—friends, family, and kids—can enjoy it. I love pink and playful touches, so this board ended up being both festive and approachable.
These dessert boards look like a lot of effort, but they come together quickly. There’s no baking involved, and there’s no single “right” way to arrange everything. Pick a few colors and textures, group items in small piles, and fill gaps with fruit or flowers. Have fun with it—the result will look intentional even if it only takes minutes to assemble.

Creating the Perfect Dessert Board
I was inspired by all the seasonal displays at my grocery store: yogurt-dipped pretzels, cake pops, chocolate-dipped strawberries and lots of red-and-pink treats. I wanted a board that felt indulgent but included fresh options, so I picked up an assortment of fruit, pretzels, dark chocolate-covered almonds, Greek yogurt for dipping, and a few bakery cake pops for a little extra fun. I also grabbed a small bouquet of red and pink roses to make the board even prettier—fresh flowers are an easy way to lift the whole presentation.
My goal was balance: combine fresh berries and banana slices with a few sweeter items so everyone can nibble their way through the board. If you prefer, you can swap in cheeses, crackers, and cured meats to make it savory, but for Valentine’s Day a little sweetness feels right.

What You’ll Need
- Large serving platter or wooden board
- Small bowls for dips, nuts, or candies
- Fresh fruit: strawberries, raspberries, banana slices, or seasonal favorites
- Pretzels (rods and minis both work)
- Dark chocolate-covered almonds or other coated nuts
- Greek yogurt for dipping and for coating pretzels
- A few indulgent candies or cake pops (optional)
- Fresh flowers or greenery for decoration
I do include a few indulgent sweets because the Valentine’s shelf is irresistible, but you can keep the board lighter by increasing the fresh fruit and nuts. The contrast of textures—crunchy pretzels, creamy yogurt dip, juicy berries—makes the board satisfying and shareable.

How to Make Yogurt-Dipped Pretzels
Yogurt-dipped pretzels are a lighter alternative to chocolate-dipped versions and are surprisingly easy to make. The trick is freezing between coats so the yogurt sets smoothly without cracking.
- Place plain or flavored Greek yogurt in a bowl. If you want colored pretzels, add a bit of food coloring and stir until uniform. Dip each pretzel into the yogurt, letting excess drip off, then place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or foil.
- Freeze the sheet of dipped pretzels for one hour so the first coat firms up.
- Dip each pretzel a second time to create a full, even coating. If you want to add sprinkles, do so immediately after the second dip before the yogurt hardens. Return the pretzels to the freezer for another hour to fully set.
This method works for both pretzel rods and mini pretzels. The result is a creamy, crunchy bite that feels indulgent without using candy coating. You can also try the same technique on strawberries or other firm fruit.

How to Make a 3-Ingredient Honey Yogurt Dip
This simple dip is a great companion for fruit and pretzels. Stir together 1 cup plain Greek yogurt, 1/4 cup honey, and 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract until smooth. Taste and adjust the honey if you prefer it sweeter. Transfer to a small bowl and garnish with a sprinkle of festive sprinkles if desired. The dip keeps for 3–4 days refrigerated.
