Welcome Baby Emma Rose: A Family Update and Return to the Blog

We are thrilled to introduce the newest and smallest member of our family: Emma Rose. She arrived on Friday, May 17th at 12:42 PM after an 18-hour labor. Our little girl weighed 8 lb 2 oz and measured 20.5 inches long at birth. These first weeks have been a blur of sweet, quiet moments, gentle sleeplessness, and nonstop staring at this tiny, perfect person. We are absolutely in love.

Birth Details and First Moments

Emma Rose’s birth was an intense and emotional experience. After a long day of labor, hearing her first cry and holding her for the first time are memories I will carry with me forever. Those moments—skin on skin, the smell of new baby, and that instant, fierce love—are indescribable. Physically and emotionally, the postpartum recovery has been a process, but every change has felt worth it for this little life.

Our First Weeks at Home

The first few weeks at home have been full of adjustments: learning Emma’s cues, settling into a new rhythm, and navigating nights that now include frequent wake-ups. We’re soaking up every minute—tracking tiny milestones, practicing swaddles, and filling the house with soft lullabies and whispered conversations. Family and friends have been so kind and supportive, and their care has made the transition gentler for us.

Becoming a parent again has reminded me to slow down. There’s an unexpected calm to many of our days now—a focus on the small things: the way Emma’s fingers curl, the expression she makes when she sleeps, and the peaceful feeling of watching her breathe. Those tiny details are shaping our days and reminding us what truly matters.

Thoughts on Balancing Motherhood and Work

For anyone wondering how I plan to balance motherhood with the blog, I want to share that I’m taking things one step at a time. My priorities are Emma’s well-being and finding a sustainable routine that allows me to share recipes and stories without sacrificing family time. I’ll be easing back into posting gradually, focusing on meaningful, well-tested recipes and real-life tips for busy families. Expect content that reflects my life now—practical, comforting recipes that suit new parents, quick meal ideas, and thoughtful reflections on food and family.

What’s Coming Next on the Blog

I’m officially back and excited to start posting again. Over the coming weeks and months, I’ll be sharing new recipes, behind-the-scenes glimpses into how I manage cooking and caring for a newborn, and helpful resources for anyone juggling family life and home cooking. My goal is to create content that tastes good, feels doable, and supports readers who want to nourish themselves and their families without added stress.

Gratitude and Thanks

Thank you all so much for your patience and kindness while I took time away. Your messages, well-wishes, and support have meant the world to us during this beautiful, hectic time. Hearing from you has been a bright spot in many long days, and your encouragement has made returning to the blog feel warm and welcome.

We are so grateful to share this journey with you. Emma Rose has already brought so much love into our lives, and I can’t wait to share more family updates, recipes, and stories as we settle into our new normal. xo
